Guided Yacht Tours
Through Cabo San Lucas's Most Iconic Waters

Our expert-guided tours take you to the most iconic and off-the-beaten-path locations in the Sea of Cortez — from the famous Arch of Cabo San Lucas and Lover's Beach to the pristine reefs of Santa Maria Bay and the remote wilderness of Cabo Pulmo. Every P.Y.C guided tour departs aboard a private vessel with a captain who carries deep local knowledge built from years on these waters, and a crew focused entirely on making the experience exceptional.

The difference between a guided yacht tour and a standard charter is the depth of context your captain brings to the experience. Our guides know where the whale sharks are feeding in season, which anchorages produce the clearest snorkeling conditions at different times of day, where the sea lion colonies haul out along the East Cape, and how to position the vessel to take advantage of the light for photographs at El Arco. This knowledge transforms a beautiful cruise into something genuinely educational and memorable.

Guided yacht tours are fully customizable to your interests and group. We offer routes focused on natural history, wildlife, snorkeling, coastline exploration, or a combination of all four. The Route

El Arco, Lover's Beach,
and beyond

The standard guided yacht tour route from Cabo San Lucas takes in the geography that makes this stretch of the Baja coast world-famous. Departure from Cabo Marina is followed by a passage toward Land's End — the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula — where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez in a dramatic confluence of blue water and raw desert stone. The Arch of El Arco rises here, a natural rock formation of singular beauty, best viewed from a private vessel at close range.

From Land's End, the tour continues to Lover's Beach — a stretch of soft white sand accessible only by sea, sheltered from Pacific swells by the rock formations at Land's End. Depending on the tour duration and group interest, the route extends further into the Sea of Cortez, reaching Santa Maria Bay for snorkeling, or east toward Chileno Bay and beyond. For longer tours, the East Cape and the Cabo Pulmo reef system are within reach.

Wildlife & Marine Life

The world's aquarium
at its finest

Jacques Cousteau named the Sea of Cortez "the world's aquarium," and the waters surrounding Cabo San Lucas continue to justify that description. Year-round, the marine environment here produces wildlife encounters of extraordinary quality. Humpback whales arrive each December and remain through April on their seasonal migration, often surfacing close enough to the vessel to produce genuinely astonishing encounters. Blue whales, the largest animals ever to have lived on Earth, pass through the outer waters during the same season.

During warmer months, whale sharks — the largest fish in the ocean — congregate in the productive waters north of the cape, offering snorkeling and swimming encounters unlike anything available in most destinations. Manta rays, sea turtles, bottlenose dolphins, and sea lion colonies complete an ecosystem that is, in the truest sense, extraordinary. Our guides know the locations and seasons for each encounter, and plan tour routes to maximize the chances of memorable wildlife experiences.

Guided Tours in Cabo

Local knowledge that changes
what you see and understand

Why guided makes the difference

Cabo San Lucas is spectacular on the surface — but the depth of what you experience depends almost entirely on what you know. A captain who has spent years on these waters can read the conditions, identify the species, explain the geology, and anticipate where the most extraordinary moments will happen. Without that knowledge, guests see the same water and coastline, but they miss the layers of context that transform a beautiful cruise into something genuinely illuminating.

P.Y.C guides have accumulated this knowledge over thousands of hours on the Sea of Cortez. They know which season brings which species, which anchorage produces the clearest visibility for snorkeling, and where the light falls at El Arco for the best photographs. They share this knowledge naturally, without lecturing — the result is a tour that feels enriching rather than educational in a formal sense, and memorable in a way that a self-guided charter simply cannot replicate.

Private vs group tour experiences

Shared tour boats in Cabo operate on fixed routes, fixed schedules, and fixed group sizes. You board with strangers, follow a predetermined itinerary, and share the experience — and the space — with people you've never met. A private guided tour with P.Y.C is the opposite of this in every respect. The vessel, the guide, and the itinerary belong exclusively to your group. The pace is yours. The stops are yours. The experience is yours.

The practical difference is significant. On a private tour, if your group wants to spend an extra thirty minutes snorkeling at Santa Maria Bay because the conditions are exceptional, you stay. If the guide spots a pod of dolphins worth pursuing, you pursue them. If the group wants to linger at El Arco for photography, you linger. None of this is possible on a shared tour boat where the schedule is fixed and forty other guests have their own preferences. Privacy is not a luxury in this context — it is the mechanism through which the best experiences become possible.

Planning Your Guided Tour

Choosing the right route
for your group and interests

Wildlife-focused routes

For guests whose primary interest is marine wildlife, the seasonal calendar in Cabo is rich and predictable. Humpback whale season runs from December through April, with peak activity typically in January and February. During this period, routes designed to intersect with whale migration corridors produce reliable sightings — often at close range. Our guides monitor whale activity in real time and adapt routes to maximize the chances of meaningful encounters rather than distant sightings.

From May through November, whale shark season brings a different category of wildlife encounter to the waters north of the cape. These gentle giants — the largest fish in the ocean, reaching lengths of up to twelve metres — congregate in nutrient-rich waters that our guides know well. Swimming alongside a whale shark in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez is among the most vivid experiences available anywhere in the world, and P.Y.C guided tours are designed to make that encounter as likely as the season allows.

Coastline and snorkeling routes

Santa Maria Bay and Chileno Bay are the premier snorkeling destinations in the Cabo San Lucas area, offering visibility and marine diversity that rival dedicated dive sites in other parts of the world. Both bays are protected from Pacific swells, which creates consistently calm conditions and the clear water that snorkeling requires. Our guides will assess conditions on the day of your tour and select the bay — or both, if timing allows — that will produce the best experience for your group.

For longer tours, the Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park offers a coral reef system of extraordinary richness — one of the oldest coral reefs on the Pacific Coast of the Americas, and one of the most successfully protected marine reserves in Mexico. The reef is home to bull sharks, manta rays, enormous schools of fish, and the kind of marine biodiversity that makes experienced snorkelers and divers genuinely speechless. Our team will discuss your interest level and help you determine whether a Cabo Pulmo excursion is the right choice for your group and timeframe.
